RED TEAM Wins
Great Hills 2010 Women’s
Summer Doubles League

It was a close, hard fought competition between 42 Great Hills
Country Club women tennis players in this annual summer-long
event. As in previous seasons, victory was not secure until the
very last match.   The RED TEAM claimed their third straight
victory in a set tie-breaker.  A big thanks to Monica Shields,
Elizabeth Barrett (Red Team Captain), and Esther Garcia (Blue
Team Captain) for all their hard work making this a great summer event.

RED TEAM  members were Elizabeth Barrett (Captain), Jan
Achilles, Jacquie Broaddus, Claudia Chidester, Jennifer Dixon,
Rossi English, Mary Friedli, Helen Garman, Jana Lee Gondran,
Karen Kim, Jenny Lloyd, Cathy Miller, Nancy Otto, Lindy Raesz,
Kathy Riddle, Monica Shields, Cachelle Spinn, Sonia Swenson,
JC Waller, Kim Webster, and Chris Wilkins.

BLUE TEAM Members were Esther Garcia (Captain), Brenda
Bernal, Anna Breed, Cindy Buford, Melissa Castellani, Laura
Castleberry, Leasy Cole, Michele Dare, Pam Drawbaugh, Adriane
Flythe, Karen Foster, Tina Haskell, Fran Johnson, Jacque Joyce,
Nan Kirkpatrick, Eileen Ladd, Cathy Painter, Lisa Shepard,
Regina Schlotter, Christine Smarda, and Kim Updegrove.

Great Hills Members in the News

Priya Niezgoda, daughter of Paul and Asha
 Niezgoda, recently attained a SUPER
 CHAMPS ranking of #5 in the state of Texas!
 Priya has attained the highest state ranking of
 a Great Hills member! 

Priya was also recently chosen to participate
 in a USTA Regional Training Camp and was
 coached by all-time great U.S. player Tim Mayotte. 
Priya is a 7th grader at Canyon Vista Middle
 School and has now moved up to
Under 14 Supers in Texas.
